It is used as a vegetable specially in Sri Lanka and some Asian countries.

Ponnanganni(Sessile Joyweed) is a tasty vegetable leaf and a best medicinal plant. The botanical name of this plant is Alternanthera sessiilis and it has seen in wetlands as a weed in all tropical regions. Ponnanganni belongs to the Amaranthaceae plant family.
