Overtime the EL backlight can become dim making the display hard to read on the alpha juno 1 & 2
Here I do a quick video on how I replaced mine.

available on ebay etc around £6

You can also fit a 16x1 LCD panel without the EL backlight. These have the advantage of not needing the high voltage power supply. On this synth however, I prefer the original colour of the standard panel.
