Join us as we interview our good friend Gabriela Castillo in beautiful San Juan del Sur on the most recent update of the COVID-19 situation in Nicaragua.

Known as a hidden gem for many Nicaraguan families and foreign tourists, San Juan is famous for a string of nearby Pacific beaches and the contemporary Christ of the Mercy statue.

However, recent protests against the government accompanied by violence outbreaks slowed down progress and tourism in the whole country and led to a great fear about how the Coronavirus pandemic would affect the country.

According to the government, things have turned out well with only 13 confirmed COVID-19 cases. However, some critics have claimed the government is downplaying the severity of the virus.

South America, on the other hand, is getting hit much harder with a larger outbreak on the horizon.

Nicaragua is blessed with unparalleled natural beauty featuring volcanoes, canyons, beautiful colonial cities, and stunning Caribbean and Pacific beaches. The people of San Juan are hoping to attract more tourists after the Coronavirus Pandemic is over.
