United 777-200 Landing at Washington Dulles (IAD)

Shot on 3 July 2023, United Airlines flight 2087.

I can't believe in all my years flying in and out of Washington D.C. that I've never posted a takeoff or landing video from Dulles. Well, that will be fixed with this flight concluding my journey home to see family and friends.

This time my itinerary routed me through Denver and luckily the Denver - D.C. leg was on a 777! This flight was on one of United's high density domestically configured 777s. Despite the fresh coat of paint and new livery, this bird is really starting to show it's age. The seats are tired and worn out and had no in seat IFE. While streaming was available on personal devices, I think United would be doing themselves and their passengers a great service by installing in seat IFE on all their planes, especially ones like this that can be found on flights much longer than 3 hours.

That aside, it's always a treat to fly on a wide body on a domestic flight! The service was solid but nothing special with the cabin crew passing through the plane to offer the standard assortment of complimentary snacks and drinks. Luckily with great views out of the window and the anticipation of seeing loved ones this flight flew by (pun intended) and before we knew it we were on our decent into Dulles. We landed in the mid afternoon during the international bank, and as we taxi to the gate it was really cool to see tails from all over the world.

Even with the outdated cabin this was still an enjoyable flight and I can't wait to get on my next wide body! As always, thanks for watching and ENJOY!
