The church located in Thoothukudi, southern district of Tamil Nadu. It is a Catholic church and architecture denotes the Portuguese style of 16th century and about 1,500 years old. The feast at the church occurs every year annually from July 26 to August 5.In this year 2020 it is celebrated as the 438th feast day.

The statue of Our Lady of Snows is devotional. Mary holds a pomegranate in her left hand and the child, baby Jesus trying to get it with his little hands outstretched. The mother is seated on a treasure trove of rubies, a silver crescent moon at her feet, and three chandeliers on the mother is standing on a treasure chest. The head is adorned with a golden hair circlet with twelve stars.

The feast is attended by the people of Thoothukudi also people from Tamil Nadu and neighboring states, people from Sri Lanka, Singapore, Spain and Gulf countries. Around 5 lakh people attend the feast every year.
