Favia coral care and tips

Описание к видео Favia coral care and tips

Favia corals are one of the more diverse coral species that you can find in the hobby. These corals are split into two categories, favia and favites. Favites polyps share a single walled skeletal structure where favia corals have a more pronounced singular polyp or head. They can be very hard to tell apart sometimes but both species have pretty much the same care requirements. Favia corals do well in medium to high lighting. 50 to 150 par will work for these guys. It is much better to start on the lower end when it comes to lighting and work your way up over time. You will damage these corals much faster with light that is too intense verses not enough light. Favia corals do well in low to medium flow. Remember to feed this lps coral. It will help with faster growth and coloration. Favia corals do have the ability to sting other corals so it is important to give them their space when you can. These corals come in a ton of different colors and grow in an encrusting fashion across your aquariums rock structure. Favia corals can bring a diverse selection of color and growth pattern to your aquarium and should not be overlooked. Happy Reefing!
