The opening remarks by H.E. Nickolay Mladenov
Director General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) at the inaugural edition of #HiliForum held 16-17 September 2024.

• The stakes are extraordinarily high. The challenges are truly daunting. From Ukraine to Gaza, from the economic battlefields of East and West, to the future of AI.


• In Geopolitics, we face questions that will shape the course of this century. How do we manage great power competition while avoiding conflict? Can we forge a new consensus on global governance? What role will middle powers play?


• The Geoeconomic landscape is equally dynamic. We are witnessing the fragmentation of global supply chains, the rise of economic nationalism, the weaponization of interdependence.


• Perhaps most transformative of all is Geotech, where emerging technologies are reshaping the foundations of power and influence.


• The UAE has long been a beacon of dialogue and diplomacy. Fostering international cooperation is not just a point of pride. It's a fundamental responsibility.


• As we engage in crucial conversations at Hili Forum, we do so with keen awareness of the country's potential and its obligation to contribute meaningfully to global stability and progress.

كلمة سعادة نيكولاي ملادينوف، مدير عام أكاديمية أنور قرقاش الدبلوماسية، في افتتاح منتدى هيلي بنسخته الأولى على مدى يومي 16 و17 سبتمبر 2024


أبرز ما جاء في كلمة سعادته:


‏- المخاطر كبيرة، والتحديات جسيمة فعلًا، من أوكرانيا إلى غزة، من ساحات المعارك في الشرق والغرب إلى مستقبل الذكاء الاصطناعي.


‏- في المجال الجيوسياسي نواجه قضايا ستحدد مسار هذا القرن؛ فكيف سنتعامل مع التنافس بين القوى العظمى، بينما نتجنب الوقوع في شرك الصراعات؟ هل يمكن التوصل إلى إجماع بشأن الحوكمة العالمية؟ وأي دور ستؤديه القوى الوسطى؟


‏- يعرف المشهد الجيواقتصادي بدوره تحولات، ونشهد تجزؤًا في سلاسل الإمداد العالمية، وصعودًا في النزعة الحمائية في المجال الاقتصادي، واستغلالًا للترابط بين الدول كورقة ضغط.


‏- لعل أبرز التحولات هي تلك التي يشهدها المجال الجيوتكنولوجي، إذتغير التكنولوجيا الناشئة أسس القوة والنفوذ.3


‏- طالما شكلت دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة منارة للحوار والدبلوماسية؛فتعزيز التعاون الدولي ليس مصدر فخر فحسب، بل مسؤولية أساسية.
‏- ونحن نفتح نافذة للحوار الجاد في منتدى هيلي، فإننا ننطلق من إدراك حقيقي لقدرات هذا البلد، والتزامه الإسهام بفاعلية في تحقيق الاستقرار والازدهار في العالم.
