My homemade porridge oat roller

Описание к видео My homemade porridge oat roller

This is a porridge oat roller that I made many years ago with help from Stephan Gleissner and Peter Fahy. But it never worked and for an embarrassingly long time I lost interest in it. But the time came and I got round to it. The design is close to but more inspired by the designs in Christian Kuhtz's book Einfälle statt Abfälle: Die Müsli-Quetsche.
I also have to thank ‪@greensnmachines‬ diecaster D aka ‪@djpetesake‬ for rekindling my interest in getting this machine going again.

Basically what I did was reprofile the surface of the rollers, leaving a raised smooth edge, then a relief and then a knurled surface slightly lower than the edges. I also modified the feed opening so that only a small amount of grain can get between the rollers. It seems that the scrapers that clear the flakes from the rollers are critical and I might give them more attention later.
