Believe it or not, 109 battlewagons fished the MidAtlantic Tournament on Monday to start the week And while all teams did stay ashore on Tuesday, 73 boats left on Wednesday and another three boats are listed as fishing today, August 21, 2025 as of 11 a.m.! Certainly all eyes are on Hurricane Erin tracking well offshore of the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region this week, and the good news is that she's headed in a northeasterly direction. While big winds and heavy seas will have the majority of anglers wisely staying shore for a few days, there are plenty of anglers willing to adapt and improvise. We’ll look at back bay in this week’s video fishing forecast from South Jersey, plus we’ll scan the midweek sea surface charts (7:17) from the Rutgers “Cool Room” to venture a guess as to what happens in the coming days after Erin blows by. Jenni has a few Pink Minnows (12:33) in this week's report, we look at the pre-storm catches (18:00) including pompano in the surf, plus George (24:00) runs through the freshwater options in his report from the Poconos. The good news (25:40) is that Erin’s blowing through fast with winds turning SW Friday night and seas progressively falling through the weekend; that might be good for "surfers" on Saturday, probably not for "surfcasters."
