Subaru Forester (2017) - New Battery Install

When installing an aftermarket Group 35 battery with raised vent caps in a 2017 and later Subaru Forester with the 2.5L engine, the negative cable's IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor) unit interferes with the raised vent cap for cells 4-6 and will prevent the cable from being installed on the negative battery terminal. Although this video may provide you with the basic procedures, we recommend that you check with the vehicle manufacture's step by step procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle you are working on.
