He was born in Kakamega and raised in Kericho. His journey took an unexpected turn when his girlfriend became pregnant, forcing him to drop out of college. At just 21 years old, Evans made the decision to marry her.

When they began living together, things quickly became difficult. His wife grew increasingly violent and controlling—she didn’t even want him to interact with his friends. Initially, Evans believed she was Swahili, but over time he discovered she was actually from Nyamira.

Their home was filled with constant conflict. His wife opposed nearly everything and seemed determined to make his life unbearable. Eventually, Evans secured a job at Nice & Lovely, but due to her insecurities and her tendency to believe rumors, she caused him to lose that job.

The couple later moved to Nairobi. Unfortunately, Evans was robbed and ended up sleeping on the streets. A friend advised him to look for work in the Industrial Area. When he finally found a job, he called his wife to share the good news and promised to send her money. Without informing him, she came to Nairobi and stayed with her cousin.

Meanwhile, a kind stranger offered Evans a place to stay, and they began living together. But soon, his wife was kicked out by her cousin and called Evans for help. He invited her to join him, but he too was evicted. That night, he had to break into the house while the owner was on a night shift so they could sleep. The next day, using his salary, Evans managed to rent a small space.

They had nothing but a mattress.

Eventually, the job ended, and their situation worsened. His wife’s violence escalated—she even physically harmed him. One day, she falsely accused Evans of infidelity. Life became unbearable. In the end, she took everything from their home and left him with nothing.
