In farming, the primary safety concerns are avoiding a brain injury. But, what do you do if you have already suffered one? How can farmers continue to perform farming tasks around machinery, livestock, and other hazardous areas, without getting hurt. Brain injury for many is a lifelong journey: one that spirals into various limitations, declining health and overall wellness. A blow to the head may have varying impacts including: memory loss, dizziness, fatigue, instability, paralysis, decreased reaction time, incoordination, cognitive impairment, grasping, visual and many other physical impairments. Attendees’ will learn the following; a) The relationship between brain injury, disabilities and Agriculture; b) Ways on how to protect themselves from injury or re-injury; and c) How to recognize potentially overlooked symptoms that may require professional diagnosis in order to continue to farm safely, effectively and efficiently.
