Her career began back in the 60s when she started appearing in commercials and landing small guest spots on TV shows. One of her first big breaks was a recurring role on Harry O. After that she was cast in another recurring role in The Six Million Dollar Man starring her husband at the time Lee Majors.

When Fawcett landed her Charlie's Angel role as investigator Jill Monroe, she was still fairly unknown but, appearing on that series coupled with her iconic red swimsuit poster which sold over 6 million copies in its first year of printing, made her an overnight sensation.

Troubles began to brew after completing the first season of the program and negotiating the terms of her contract for the second season. Fawcett felt like she wasn't being paid enough. She also wanted greater creative control of her character. The network was unwilling to give her what she wanted and she would up quitting the show.
