One of the issues you will face when moving to Switzerland is completing the Swiss customs forms. Here's a quick guide on how to complete the form.

How to fill in the form

Firstly before filing out the form you will need to consider what items you want to ship that might be prohibited or restricted such as alcohol, drugs, narcotics, firearms, food, ammunition and ivory.

You should carefully read the details about any household goods, vehicles or pets you might wish to take with you. For example, all items for duty free import must have been used and owned by you for at least six months.

Once you know exactly what you wish to take, you can start filing in the form. You will need to list your name, date of birth, marital status, profession, current address and Swiss address.

You'll need to provide details of your Swiss residence permit or assurance of a permit application along with proof that a house or flat has been purchased or rented as well as official foreign registration numbers of any cars or motorbikes you want to import.

This will mean you'll need to state the date of your house or rental contract as well as the type, make and model of your vehicles.

Once you have filled in the form, all you need to do is sign and date it. 360 will provide a full inventory of the goods packed and will submit this on your behalf to the Swiss Customs Office along with the completed customs form.
