"Bartholomew Kuma, also been called ”Tyrant” Kuma, is one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. He is a very quiet and calm person. He ate the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gave him paw pads on the palms of his hands. These pads have the power to repel anything. It can also repel the air into a palm-shaped shock wave at the speed of light and continuously penetrate the object. He always asks "If you were to go on a trip, where would you go?" before he uses his devil fruit power to send the people away to where he chooses. Kuma is highly valued by the world government. He is the only person in the Warlord of the Sea who publicly claimed to obey the commands of the World Government, but has repeatedly helped the Straw Hat Pirates escape with their lives. He impressed many pirates in the Thriller bark.

The scene of the Bartholomew Kuma statue, produced by Jimei Palace, comes from the battle of the Thriller Bark. The tyrant Kuma in the statue stands in the ruins of the Thriller Bark and releases his strongest skills the blast and the bomb.
