CAT POOP COFFEE is World's Most Expensive! (Kopi Luwak in Indonesia). Also Avo Coffee & Pandan Tea!

So when I heard that the world's most expensive coffee comes from feces from a native Indonesian cat, I was intrigued and I had to see for myself!!

In short, according to Wikipedia, Kopi Luwak is a coffee that consists of partially digested coffee cherries, which have been eaten and defecated by the Asian palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus), a type of cat. Thus, it is also called civet coffee (or in Bahasa/Indonesian, kopi luwak). The cherries are fermented as they pass through a civet's intestines, and after being defecated with other fecal matter, they are collected and cleaned.

As the coffee beans are not able to be digested by the Asian pal civet, it comes out as a bean that is then brewed to make this crazy coffee!!

We got to first try this coffee in Jakarta, which is one of the biggest and craziest cities in the entire world; it's a city that is actually sinking, home to the most insane traffic, but most importantly some of the WORLD'S BEST STREET FOOD! Later, we also got to see this cat and try this coffee again at an eco-agricultural spot in Ubud in Bali which grew many different herbs, fruits, and coffee beans.

It was my first trip to Indonesia in December 2019, and I couldn't wait to eat everything, see amazing sights, visit all the street markets and neighborhoods, and experience all the culture of a 20 million person city in the 4th most populous country in the world!

So where did we try this crazy Kopi Luwak?

Well at a cafe called Kopi Luwak of course which had the friendliest staff and also amazing coffee drinks which we had... and also a lot of food, which we didn't try.

So we also had Avocado Coffee and Pandan Ice Tea, which spoiler alert, were super incredible!
