Column Level Encryption (CLE) is server a platform security product that allows server-side encryption of string-based fields (strings, dates, URLs) and attachments within the ServiceNow Platform. Field values are encrypted, and access to the unencrypted data is role-based. Users without the correct role do not see the field at all.
