Lal bhoplyache gharge is a traditional recipe. There is a tradition in Maharashtra that in the Marathi month if Ashadh, different fried recipes are prepared. Gharge is one such Ashadh special recipe. I will show you detail recipe starting from how to cut the pumpkin to how to fry the gharge. You will get lot many tips and tricks to make perfect gharge. These gharge turn out nice and crispy. These puff up nicely and remain crispy longer. They don’t even remain oily. This is a very easy and simple recipe. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 250 gram Pumpkin
• 1 cup Gudh
• 3 cups Wheat flour
• 2 tsp Rice flour
• 1 tsp Poppy seeds
• A pinch of Salt
• Oil for frying

Method:
• Cut the pumpkin into pieces and peel it. Cup it into small pieces.
• You can grate the pumpkin if you want.
• Transfer the chopped pumpkin into a cooker and add gudh.
• Close the lid and steam it together on medium heat for about 15 minutes.
• Mash the mixture well together until it becomes homogenous.
• Mix wheat flour, rice flour, poppy seeds and salt well together in a dish and add the pumpkin
mixture.
• Knead the dough. Avoid use of water while kneading the dough.
• Cover and rest the dough for about 15-20 minutes.
• Take a small portion and make it smooth and even.
• Roll a small puri from it.
• Heat up oil in a pan on medium heat and drop gharge into it.
• Fry gharge well on low heat from both sides.
• When gharge are fried well from both sides take it out on a wire rack. Gharge are ready.
• When these gharge cool down completely you can store these in an airtight container. These
have shelf life of about 5-6 days.
