Just an hour ago, I recorded another Artifact episode where I answered a self-assessment question. These types of questions feel good because they force you to reflect deeply on your own life.
Now, let’s get back to today’s question.
When it comes to talking about money with family and friends—do I feel comfortable?
Yes, I do. But the answer depends on the situation.
Money Now vs. Money Later
Right now, I only have 183 rupees in my account. That’s practically nothing, yet I still feel comfortable talking about it. I don’t treat money as a secret.
But imagine a future where I have $10 million (around 5–10 crore rupees). Would I still feel the same?
Not really.
Here’s why: money changes the way people look at you. If my friends knew I had millions while they were working a 9–10-hour job, they might feel discouraged. They might think, “I should have tried YouTube instead of this corporate path.”
The problem is, people only see the money—not the years of struggle, effort, failures, and persistence it takes. They forget that YouTube, or any business, is never as simple as it looks.
That’s why, if I ever had huge wealth, I wouldn’t openly share exact numbers. With my parents, yes, I’d be honest. But with friends, cousins, or extended family, I’d keep it general—something like, “Yeah, I’m doing well.”
Confidence
If money is earned honestly, then yes—it brings confidence. But if it’s made through corruption or shortcuts, you can’t confidently talk about it, not even with parents.
Since I know I’d never earn dishonestly, I’d feel confident no matter the amount.
Happiness
Money does not guarantee happiness. It only removes some stress. Happiness also comes from family, respect, peace of mind, and purpose in life.
A person earning ₹50,000 can be happier than someone earning ₹5 lakh, depending on their outlook.
Positivity
For me, money also brings positivity—because I know I’m earning through genuine effort. That alone feels good and affirming.
My Final Answer
Comfortable? Yes—with parents, fully open; with others, cautious.


Confident? Yes—because my money will be honestly earned.


Happy? Yes—since I value more than just money.


Positive? Yes—because there’s nothing shady to hide.
