Cardhu 12 years old Review

Описание к видео Cardhu 12 years old Review

Cardhu is a distillery that sits on the north bank of the river Spey, and so naturally is situated in the Speyside region.

The distillery has its origins back in the days when smuggling whisky happened and farmers tried their best to avoid the excise tax men from England. Tenant farmers John and Helen Cumming made whisky and sold it through their kitchen window in the beginning.

People might think that the history of Scotch whisky distilling is one of men making their passion but actually many women were the true distillers and Cardhu's origins is a prime example. Helen Cumming was the distiller and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth expanded the distillery considerably. Her malt whisk was principally sold to John Walker and Sons Ltd. who bought her out when she retired. And so, it is no surprise that you will find Cardhu is a key single malt found in many Johnnie Walker offerings.

Please view my review and comment how you find this whisky. Is it to your liking?

Cheers,

Jason Debly
