Look / See: The Female Gaze in Cinema explores how filmmakers reclaim and redefine the act of looking. In celebration of International Women’s Day, this 13-film programme challenges dominant narratives, interrogates power dynamics, and reimagines gendered representation in Western and Asian cinema. From intimate portraits of girlhood to radical cinematic experiments, Look / See celebrates female voices that resist, disrupt, and reinvent cinema.
Highlights include the 50th-anniversary screenings of Jeanne Dielman and Picnic at Hanging Rock, the Singapore premiere of Yvonne Rainer’s Film About a Woman Who…, and a mid-career retrospective on Asian American filmmaker Kimi Takesue.
