Ingredients
Bitter gourd :1(finely chopped)
Desiccated coconut :1 cup
Dry whole chilli :4+2(2 for final taste)
Curry leaves:10
Whole coriander seeds:11/2tablespoon
Onions:1
Coconut oil:3tbs
Mustard seeds:1 teaspoon
Jaggery(sharkkara):1 teaspoon
Tamarind :1 small ball


Method

Soak tamarind in one glass of hot water and keep aside..

Wash and cut pavakka into medium pieces ..

Heat oil add 1 cup of desiccated coconut and dry fry it for few minutes with 1 1/2 tbs of whole coriander seeds and 4 whole dry chilli.
Once it’s half done add curry leaves.Once it’s done (light brown colour )put the flame off and add 1 tsp cashmere chilli powder and sauté it for few seconds.
Let it cool completely


Heat oil in a kadai ,then shallow fry pavakka ,green chilli, onion for 2 to 3 minutes in medium flame..

To this add tamarind water (strain the water ) .. Boil for5 minutes ..

Then add ground paste and add enough water and mix well..Then add salt and allow to boil for 5 minutes ..

Now add grated jaggery .. If u don’t like u can avoid jaggery

Check the taste .. Add salt if needed..So allow to cook for 15 minutes or until cook well..Consistency should medium thick..After cooling it will become more thick..
For thadkka
Heat coconut oil and add 1 tsp of mustard seeds.Once its splutter add dry whole chilli and curry leaves cook it for few seconds and add it to curry and cover it for few minutes.

So the pavakka theeyal is ready to serve ..

..Serve with rice!!!
