It is with profound sadness and the heaviest heart that I share Investigator Wayne David, a 25-year veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department, who has passed away while serving in the line of duty.

Investigator David joined MPD in December 1998 and was assigned to the Third District after graduation. In November 2007, he was assigned to the Narcotics and Special Investigations Division, Gun Recovery Unit. In 2017, he became an Investigator in the Violent Crime Suppression Division. Investigator David’s commitment and dedication to the Metropolitan Police Department and the District of Columbia will never be forgotten.
