One of the defining moments in the history of the Free Presbyterian Church was the stand taken against the rising tide of liberalism in the early 20th century. Theological liberalism was creeping into churches across the West, causing many to abandon the foundational truths of Scripture. It was a challenging time—one that tested the convictions of many believers. The founding members of the Free Presbyterian Church, however, stood against the tide. They knew that the gospel must not be watered down, no matter the cost.
