The Huntsville AL L5 Society (“HAL5”) and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center present a Pass the Torch lecture with Lt. Col. (Ret) Ed Yeilding, USAF, on Oct. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the National Geographic Theater.

Join Col. Yeilding as he discusses his captivating experience flying one of the fastest planes ever built, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. Yeilding’s 1990 U.S. coast-to-coast flight in the SR- 71 covered 2,400 miles in 68 minutes, 17 seconds.

The Pass the Torch series is free and open to the public and made possible with funding from Jean Wessel Templeton and Linda J. Smith. A great way to reconnect with history, learn more about specialized topics, or even catch a glimpse of an exciting future, Pass the Torch inspires and educates young and old alike.
