Hello !

Just see how excited I was to have Aeldhelm on screen at the beginning of the movie, to understand how painful it was for me to see all of that manipulation, all of these lies, finishing by having him killed. It was truly awful because I understood during last season how much I loved his character, and I even said it in the intro, him and Finnan, they had to survive to everything. So, for Aethelstan to condemn him to die, because he's blindly following a guy who sells him fake love and fake religious things, it was too much. I cried, I had to take a break, I was beyond mad.

I really didn't understand at first that the guy was a spy, I thought he was malicious but only for "power" reasons. To discover that made me even more worried. I know stories, I know we have to lose a lot to win at the end, but here, to have the sons being taken away, to have Uthred forced to exile, to have Bebbanburg being destroyed and all of its people being killed, and Finnan's wife, and our guys almost losing hope… It was painful to watch.

But they kept Alfred's dream in mind, all along, and for sure I cried each time they mentioned him. And thanks to that, Uthred forgave Aethelstan (I didn't), and the last battle, and the plans to win it, and the King proving he can defend himself and take the right decisions, and Uthred being so hurt but not dying before getting back to his home… I loved this end and I was surprised by how good it was : to see that feast waiting for him in Valhalla, with old friends, with Brida, to not have him join them, and just finish with the castle, to remind that all of that is a real story… I loved it.
