Thank you AJ for sharing your story of addiction recovery with us and congrats on 7 years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol this year! You're an inspiration to so many and a beautiful reminder of how powerful sharing your story can be, even if for the first time in a group of strangers. 

"I think when it happens to you, much like when addiction and depression happened to me, it's really hard to see that it's happening to you...I needed a lot of help to see it was happening to me." 

Self is not always good at recognizing self, for better or for worse. When we surround ourselves with positive people who genuinely care for themselves and others, it is amazing how much stronger we become and how much more self-awareness--the first step with any behaviour change--we are afforded. AJ's story reminds us to always be bold and share what we once needed to hear ourselves, as you never truly know who may need to hear what you have to say.
