Saturday, October 10th at 3:00pm This year, all allies and supporters who want to show solidarity and support are urged to truly show the community #WeGotYourBack by marching BEHIND the trans community through the streets of Philadelphia. Let's tell the City and world that here in Philadelphia, we stand behind our transgender community! You may already say to people that you “support the LGBT community,” - understand and stand up for the T of the acronym.

"The transgender community continues to face astounding rates of violence. Many of you have expressed sadness, outrage and disbelief at the violence and lack of understanding, empathy and compassion shown far too frequently by fellow Philadelphians and throughout our Nation. It is time that we all stand together, with and for the transgender and gender nonconforming communities and work to end the violence and harassment through understanding and unity. You see, we all have a gender identity and a sexual orientation. Your gender identity is simply who you are (male, female, etc). Your sexual orientation is simply who you love (straight, gay, lesbian, bi, etc). You know who you are and who you love (or are attracted to) right? When who you are or who you love is somehow different than the majority of the population, you should not be subjected to death, violence, harassment, abandonment or overall stigmatization.
