This is the first chapter where major preparations have to be shown, as to pull off the strategy for this map, 2 units need to be promoted. Ilyana uses BEXP, which the amount she gets has to be shown as otherwise, it'd be easy to rig her levels. Rhys uses the Master Seal to early promote, as healers don't need extra levels to perform their role.

This game's desert map is unique as not only is there treasure to collect, but sparing all enemies except Muarim will award BEXP. Units can unequip their weapons to avoid hurting them, but the desert terrain and enemies can make it difficult to progress. Most of the trouble can be avoided by clearing the map quickly.

On Maniac, the enemies are carrying Laguz Stones that can be stolen and act like the regular ones. This is very useful for Reyson, who'd be limited to 4 transformations with the normal amount.

Stefan has high stats for this point in the game, but is limited by his class's innate weaknesses like being unable to counter from range. Still, his close-range combat is impressive so it's just matter of putting him in favorable situations. On the Japanese version, Swordmasters(as well as Snipers and Berserkers) don't have 15% Crit bonus, so he's a bit worse here but can still reach good rates with his high Skill.
