Описание к видео Teachers Can't Fix Gen Alpha or Gen Z! Kids Can't Listen, Read Or Behave & It's Not Teachers' Fault😭

Gen Z and Gen Alpha students are arriving in classrooms with unprecedented levels of defiance, apathy, and entitlement, yet teachers’ hands are tied at every turn. We’re forced to implement ineffective, one-size-fits-all curriculums, micromanaged to the point of exhaustion, and subjected to insane anti-discipline policies that strip us of the ability to hold students accountable. On top of that, we’re navigating difficult parents who refuse to support or partner with us, all while battling society’s increasingly negative attitudes toward the teaching profession. It’s not that teachers aren’t trying—it’s that we’re powerless to fix a system collapsing under the weight of societal decay, permissive parenting, rebellious students, and bureaucratic chaos. It hurts to be blamed for the state of education!

In this video, I discuss a visual model I made called The Funnel of Change!

🔺 The Funnel of Change
1️⃣ Society – Pop culture has reshaped people’s morals, values, and beliefs, creating behaviors and attitudes that disrupt schools. Hollywood, Netflix, gaming, and social media glorify entitlement, instant gratification, and disdain for authority. These influences have replaced values like discipline and responsibility with rebellion and laziness. Kids grow up immersed in a culture that undermines respect for rules and encourages self-centered behavior, which spills into classrooms, making learning environments chaotic and unmanageable. These negative changes start with adults!

2️⃣ Parents – Permissive parenting is wreaking havoc on schools. When parents avoid setting boundaries, refuse to say “no,” and treat every tantrum as an emotion to validate rather than a behavior to correct, kids arrive at school unequipped to handle structure or discipline. They think rules are negotiable, assignments are optional, and their personal preferences outweigh classroom needs. Parents who enable this behavior often blame teachers when their child struggles, refusing to hold their kids accountable. The result? Teachers are left to enforce boundaries for kids who have never had any, all while dealing with parents who undermine their authority.

3️⃣ Students – Gen Z and Gen Alpha students are increasingly resistant to authority and accountability. Many won’t complete assignments, can’t focus on tasks, and refuse to follow rules. They’ve been raised to expect instant success and praise, so they crumble under criticism and lack the grit to persevere through challenges. Kids see school as irrelevant and often treat teachers as obstacles rather than mentors. Disrespect, defiance, and apathy are becoming the norm in classrooms, making it harder for teachers to educate and manage students effectively.

4️⃣ School Rules & Laws – Teachers are forced to operate within rigid bureaucratic systems, where policies often prioritize appearances over real solutions. Curriculums, discipline policies, and classroom management strategies are dictated by administrators, districts, and even federal laws. Teachers are expected to follow these rules, even if they know they’re ineffective or harmful, or risk losing their jobs. Testing-focused curriculums leave little room for creativity or flexibility, while weak discipline policies prevent teachers from enforcing meaningful consequences. Administrators are more concerned about avoiding lawsuits or bad press than supporting teachers, leaving classrooms in chaos.

5️⃣ Teachers – At the very bottom of the Funnel of Change are teachers, bearing the brunt of every failure in the system. Teachers are blamed for lazy students, weak parenting, ineffective policies, and society’s shifting values—all things completely outside their control. They’re expected to teach, parent, discipline, and inspire students in overcrowded classrooms with little support and endless scrutiny. Low pay, high stress, and constant micromanagement push many out of the profession altogether. The harsh reality? Teachers’ hands are tied, and they’re being set up to fail.

🔥 The Hard Truth
Teachers aren’t the problem. The system is broken from the top down, starting with a society that no longer values hard work, parents who refuse to parent, and laws that tie teachers’ hands. Education is collapsing, not because there are bad teachers, but because educators are being asked to perform miracles while being stripped of the tools and authority to do so.
