Sheila Heti discusses her first book, “The Middle Stories.” Part of “The Paris Review”'s “My First Time” video interview series.

The manuscript pages that appear at 1:28 and 2:53 in the video show handwritten edits by Ken Sparling, a writer and editor Sheila was invited to work with for a few months while she was in the early stages of editing the book.
