The cold start procedure and oil level check from the 2008MY Aston Martin V8 Vantage (dry sump oil system):

Depress clutch and accelerator.
Turn engine over until oil lamp is no longer illuminated.
(Pre engine-start oil pressure has now been achieved).
Start the engine.
Idle for 20 seconds at 2000rpm.
Stop the engine.
Wait 30 seconds, then check the oil level.
