Performing a 30-day load study with the PEL 103

Описание к видео Performing a 30-day load study with the PEL 103

When adding new loads to an existing electrical service or set of feeders, the first step is to determine if the current system can support the new loads and avoid overcapacity. Local electrical authorities often require this information before issuing permits.

To assess present loading, you need to either calculate or measure the existing loads. This typically involves measuring the consumed current and energy to ensure safety and reliability. In North America, the primary method (per Article 220 of the 2014 National Electrical Code) is to determine the maximum demand over one year, if such data is available. Alternatively, a 30-day load study can be conducted to find the maximum typical demand.

In this video, AEMC Instruments Technical Training Manager Gregg Wong will tell you how to perform a 30-day load study with the AEMC Instruments Power Energy Logger, the PEL 103.
