Enter Umzula Zuli! (Three Weeks Old)

I received the notification that little Umzula Zuli had been born on #WorldElephantDay at the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido the morning after while doing an all day hike in the High Eastern Sierra. It took me three weeks to finally see the little "monster" in person.

As you will see he really sticks around his mother because he is kind of forced to by the rest of the herd. Anytime he gets too far away you will see a bunch of trunks catching up to him and guiding him back. Near the end of this video it looks like he is getting swarmed by trunks pushing him around.
