Pre-Construction Helical Pier Installation

In this video, Helicon demonstrates the installation of pre-construction helical pier process at this South Tampa waterfront home. A total of 95 helical piers were installed in load bearing areas of the home.

A geotechnical study was conducted using a Boring Test. They results concluded that the underlying soil was suspect in providing long term support for shallow foundations. Based on the soil profiles, helical pilings are installed.

Due to the close proximity to the water of the subject property, the steel pilings and the support bracket assembly were hot-dipped galvanized for corrosion protection.

Helical piers are perfect for a lot located in a neighborhood with nearby residences. The process is much quieter than traditional wood pilings and has minimally invasive vibration or spoil associated with its installation.

The piers are cut to length, capped and foundation is poured to encapsulate and incorporate the piers into the final structure of the home.
