First look at the Hino 700 series, a very nice looking cabin which will be a strong contender in the heavy duty truck market. The new 700 series will rival many of the Japanese contenders offering a more upscale and higher horse power truck. The 700 series has been completely reengineered with many new features to assist the driver. The truck is built strong and sturdy with a 13L Turbo Diesel engine with a 16 Speed AMT with a built in intarder along with a true engine brake. This truck has polished Alcoa rims and drum brakes. The drum brakes make sense on this FY3248 as it will not require heavy duty disc brakes with the integration of the transmission intarder and jake brake. The drum brakes will also reduce the cost of maintenance in the long run as well. I think this truck will rival many of the common european brands such as volvo, scania and mercedes benz in the heavy duty market.
