Best Proposal Ever - Machu Picchu Surprise

Описание к видео Best Proposal Ever - Machu Picchu Surprise

Our proposal story began 6-months ago. Mike began building the framework, looking for diamonds, and planning the proposal. He knew Vanessa's picture perfect proposal would involve surprise and every moment captured on video. To avoid suspicion, he told her that he was looking into becoming a diamond trader, he also told her that he was searching for a great location to shoot a commercial for his business, among other white lies.

Last October, they went on a little vacation to Peru. In Vanessa's eyes, the trip was to introduce him to some of her friends and family. In his eyes, it was the beginning of their new journey together.

One week before the trip, and after months of preparation, several hours on Pinterest, and diligent diamond research, Mike had Vanessa's dream ring made. The only person who knew about the plan was Stephanie, Vanessa's younger sister.

To continue with the plan, a few days before their flight, Mike asked Vanessa's mom to come over to his house and help him make a surprise video for his girlfriend of 3 years.
Instead, when Vanessa's mom arrived, he asked her for her blessing to ask her oldest daughter's hand in marriage. They hugged, cried, laughed, and she shared her wisdom on relationships. This conversation was captured and used as a key part of the proposal.

Days later, once in Peru and after spending four beautiful days in Lima, meeting family & friends, trying new foods, and seeing the sights, Vanessa and Mike took a quick flight to Cusco to explore some of Peru's landmarks. After arriving and acclimating to the elevation, exploring the culture, history, and views of the ancient city, they started their journey to Machu Picchu. The plan was to visit the beautiful historic center early the following morning, and be among the first ones to arrive, which meant an early 2:00am wake up call.

As they arrived, they were amazed by the beauty of the majestic city. They made it to the first viewing point, where Mike encouraged Vanessa to push on and make it to an even higher spot. It wasn't easy, the altitude was slowing them down, and they were carrying heavy camera equipment up the hand carved stairs. They climbed higher and higher to get to the "perfect spot to shoot the commercial" Mike had been talking about for the last few months.

After setting up the cameras, the ideal moment arrived. That's when Mike handed Vanessa an iPad to watch what he said was a short demo and script of what he was envisioning for his business' video. Instead, she was shocked when she realized the demo was not quite what she thought. It was the short movie he had created just days before where her mom gave her blessing. Needless to say, she broke into tears as both their families approved of their new journey together.

In tears of joy she said "Yes!"

Mike and Vanessa are now planning a destination wedding between both their hometowns (his, Los Angles, CA; and hers, Lima, Peru) so their closest friends and relatives can share in their celebration.
