After Dilijan we started heading to the border with Georgia. We took the road we originally had intended to drive some six weeks earlier when we planned our entry into Armenia. Heavy rain at the time caused extensive damage to roads and bridges, so we took a different route that time. Driving through the valley, we still see damage. On our way out we visited a few monasteries and stayed a night at the well-known Kanchaqar camping which also allowed us to get some laundry done and fill up with water. The border crossing was very easy and uneventful.
