“Indeed, he succeeds who purifies it (the soul), and he fails who corrupts it.” (91:9–10)

Verses 11–15: Example of the People of Thamud

The Surah then gives a historical warning through the story of the people of Thamud, who rejected their prophet Saleh (AS) and defied Allah’s command by killing the she-camel.

Allah’s punishment was swift and severe — a destructive cry wiped them out.
