Why I Personally Dislike YouTube's Like/Dislike System...

As a creator here on YouTube, one thing I enjoy most about producing content is interacting with my audience here on the site. However, something I have noticed over the years is that the number of comments a video receives is minimal compared to the number of likes a video pulls. This is because many people out there seem to have adopted this trend of it's easier to just click the like button to show you enjoy something, rather than actually expressing how you feel about something through a comment. As I myself put it, the like button has basically killed social interaction.

Then there's the matter of the dislike button which basically just causes more harm than good. Haters and trolls seem to use this more than anyone else, and it does have a negative effect on creators who are simply trying to have a positive impact here on YouTube. Unfortunately haters and trolls seem to thrive on the site these days, so there's really no reason to make it easier for them by having things such as the dislike button which they can abuse for their own personal amusement.

I personally feel that YouTube's like/dislike system has more negatives than positives. While I really don't see anything being done to resolve the issues I've mentioned, I do think its important for YouTubers like us to have our say on the matter as well. As I said in the video, I'd like everyone to comment your thoughts on what I've mentioned in the video, and also talk about your own personal experiences on the matter if you've had any.
