In May of 1980, British special forces forcibly ended a siege at the Iranian Embassy in London where 26 hostages had been taken. Later that year, this song about the incident appeared on the new Jethro Tull album, A. This was a divisive album for some fans, but I’m hoping my acoustic re-imagining of it can help the old school Benefit/Living in the Past-loving crew recognize the same creative brilliance here that so energized those earlier albums.
