Singapore Travel from Kolkata (India) to Changi Airport: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Visa Processing: Ensure to process your Singapore visa at least one month in advance through a nearby Singapore travel agent.

2. Singapore Arrival Card:
Before Your Trip: Complete the Singapore Arrival Card (also known as the Embarkation/Disembarkation Card or White Card) online 2 days prior to your flight. You can also submit it after landing but before clearing immigration.
Submission Confirmation: Once submitted, you’ll receive a DE (Disembarkation/Embarkation) number in your email. Print it out and keep it handy. It's recommended to fill out the card from the comfort of your home before traveling.

3. Clearing Immigration: After submitting the Arrival Card and clearing immigration, you will receive a "Welcome to Singapore" email confirming your entry.

4. Luggage and Exit: Collect your luggage and proceed towards the exit. You’ll find a "Cheers" shop at the exit, where you can purchase an EZ-Link card. This card is essential for traveling around Singapore by bus or MRT.

5. Transport to the Hotel: Take the MRT from Changi Airport Station to your hotel. For us, we stayed at Hotel V Lavender, so we alighted at Lavender Station.

6. SIM Card: Purchase a local SIM card for SGD 14, which offers 100 GB of data for 30 days—perfect for your stay in Singapore.

7. Currency Exchange: Avoid exchanging currency at the airport as the rates are typically higher. Find a better exchange rate outside the airport.

8. Check-in and Rest: Once you check into your hotel, take some time to rest before embarking on your exciting Day 1 tour of Singapore.
