The second of two albums that Elaine Brown cut while part of the Black Panther Party – and a lot more trippy than the first one. Despite the fact that Motown had a hand in releasing this one, the overall style is fairly folksy – sort of a mix of Jean Ritchie and Joan Baez, with lots of songs about lost men, dead soldiers, and helpless babies. -- Dusty Groove
