Washington Section I (White Pass to Snoqualmie Pass) is 98 miles.

I feel that I may have jynxed us when I entered Washington saying that I was excited to “finish this thing on a strong note.” This section wasn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows. Instead, it was a hefty amount of smoke, obscured views, swollen extremities, and sad lungs. We made the most of this section though. We laughed at the abysmal views of Rainier that should have been spectacular, we practiced a whole bunch of patience with ourselves and our sad knees and kankles, and we made new friends. In Snoqualmie, my dad brought me a multiple of knee braces to try out, which very likely had a huge impact on the rest of our hike. Being so close to the end, it’s frustrating to have these kinds of random aches and pains things happen, but having an incredible support system in your corner makes all the difference.
