Abstract: Modern imaging techniques have transformed our ability to study living systems, enabling the visualization of biomolecules in their native cellular environment. To reach their full potential, these technologies require tailored molecular reporters that can deliver structural and functional insights with high spatiotemporal resolution. For this purpose, my group focuses on developing innovative molecular tools for imaging across scales. By combining synthetic chemistry with protein engineering, we create chemigenetic systems that merge the optical advantages of synthetic fluorophores with the precise targeting of self-labelling protein tags. These customizable tools can be tailored for diverse imaging applications ranging from labelling to biosensing.
