Part two of our travelling adventure in our family campervan. Heading through Spain we cross the border into France after staying at a cool campsite for a couple of days. The kids are loving their holiday and whilst there is no kid free time at all (in a campervan) it's lovely to be present and experience everything with them. There is no respite though as you can't wind down or relax in the evening as you're sharing the one small combined space. They are not old enough to want their own space yet so just want to be crawling all over you at any given point! Yes we'll miss it later... Travelling by van has pros and cons, its slower, cost more in tolls but you have freedom to go where and as and when you please. Shane will argue bike is king for ease, speed, economy, flexibility but of course no pets or kids on that! This is a great opportunity as a family to share experiences and memories - it's just a different style of vacation! The dogs would have absolutely hated it, the heat at night with 4 people in a van was almost unbearable as we're of course not used to any heat! 21 degrees is a glorious summer DAY in the uk, not tipping toward 30 at night in a van haha. The golden children had plenty a tantrum, sweated lots and fell out many times too but it's part and parcel of the vanlife!
