Sukhdi - the Authentic Gujarati sweet made with jaggery (gur or gol), ghee (clarified butter), and atta (whole wheat flour). This quick dessert requires only 10 minutes and simple ingredients.

Traditionally sukhdi is eaten during the winters. But I make it whenever I feel like. I like to have it fresh all the time. So I always make a small batch.

In Gujarat, it is known as Sukhdi. While it is called gur papdi or gol papdi in Maharashtra.

Sukhdi has soft, crumbly and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The piece of it cannot hold well like burfi or kaju katli. Yes, it is that soft, so it will get break or fall apart very easily. This texture is because of the ghee. The more ghee you use, the more softer you will get.

Perhaps one of the simple and easy dry barfi recipes made with wheat flour, ghee, jaggery, and gond crystals. It is typically made and served in the winter season, but can also be made across the seasons for good bone health and skin. It is typically made with basic ingredients like wheat, jaggery, and ghee but has evolved to have additional toppings like dry fruits and gond.
