The concept of providing information at this museum uses interactive media technology. The inauguration of the museum was held on December 8, 2017, by the Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan. The location of museum is in the eastern part of Gedung Sate.

The concept given by the Gedung Sate Museum is about the architectural style and historical value of the Gedung Sate. The implementation of the concept is carried out in stages starting from the prologue stage, exploration to contemplation. Historical value is delivered with interactive digital technology. Some of the technologies used are touch screens that display information via graphics. Each visitor is given the opportunity to wear virtual reality glasses. The aim is to provide a three-dimensional picture of Gedung Sate. The other room provides augmented reality technology that makes visitors feel as if they are participating in the construction of Gedung Sate. Several other technologies are used to explain the building materials used in Gedung Sate such as pillars, frames, stairs, exterior design, and interior design of Gedung Sate.
