Live OBS and NDI with 4 phones as wifi cameras

Описание к видео Live OBS and NDI with 4 phones as wifi cameras

Here is a quick demo showing phones and tablets being used as cameras for live streaming. Most phones have better video quality than webcams and with this setup you don't need any video capture hardware either. You can use your older phones/tablets or if you sold them all, you can use the phones of friends or family members.

This setup uses an iPad pro, iPhone 6, iPhone7 and iPhone X all running a $20 app from Newtek called NDI HX Camera that sends video and sound over WiFi (since all the devices were mine, I only had to pay for the app once).

Everything else was free software, OBS with it's NDI plugin handled receiving all the video, switching views and recording it to disk.

There are occasional glitches in my video which I'm looking into, I suspect it's because I'm in one of the world's worst spots for WiFi interference, there are over 35 networks visible from where I am!

Anyway, if you want to do multi-camera recording, give this a try, the setup was very simple and straightforward.

OBS software is free here: https://obsproject.com/
NDI tools for PC/Mac are free here: https://www.ndi.tv/tools/
NDI HX camera for iPhone/iPad is $20 here https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ndi-hx-...
There are some other NDI camera apps for iPhone on the app store which I haven't tried.
I think there are NDI camera apps for Android also, but I don't have an Android phone so I can't recommend one.

You can also use a phone with the NDI camera app to send video/sound to other live streaming apps on your PC such as vMix or to video conferencing apps like Skype, Webex or Google Hangouts.
