Fender Dimension Bass set up

Here's Jabez's Fender USA Dimension bass. A rare beast... Misunderstood it seems and discontinued. I took a look at some of the feedback about this bass and not many people could find serious fault with the build quality, the range of tone or the playability. Critics seem to think it doesn't know what it is; whether its a traditional Fender instrument or an edgy modern alternative (like the MusicMan). Fender is damned if it tries to introduce something modern and different and damned if it doesn't, they say. They're probably right but as far as I'm concerned it's not very solid ground to find fault with the instrument itself.
But there you have it; it's discontinued and therefore a rarity. I'm not a bass player but I couldn't find any fault with it. Yes, it looks different... yes it has two powerful active humbuckers... yes it has a volume control and 3 'eq' tone controls... and it has a simple, solid reliable bridge. In this video I set it up to a lower action than Fender's 'rather-too-high' specification and used my Bass 'Banana' levelling beam to gently clear up some fret slap. The frets appeared to have been mildly levelled at some point in the past; I don't know whether that was a factory touch or a previous owner.
If I was going to play bass I'd be happy with the feel of this and the range of tone from the 2 humbuckers and the unusual 5 way switching.
